I've been living in France for almost two years. For the very first time I see a discussion on the TV news where the title is "La répartition inégale des tâches parentales" (the unequal sharing of parental duties), or something similar.
They are observing that the mothers take care of daily, repetitive tasks such as bringing the kids to school, serving them food, repeating homework, etc, while the fathers are mainly dealing with the exceptional tasks, or those related to plays and games. This is news. On the question whether there are countries where the politics have managed to change the structures within families. Yes, there is, somebody claims; the Nordic countries.
I hope there will be a review of this debate later on this eve (probably, they tend to show the same stuff more than twice), cause I didn't really hear their arguments. I was occupied by contemplating the fact that these issues were presented in a way revealing that people in general are not even aware of their existence.
Good morning, France.

Buenas noches Francia!
